Jr NTR Discusses the Decision to Split Devara into Two Parts
This Friday, audiences worldwide will get to experience Jr NTR’s dynamic performance in Devara: Part 1. Directed by Siva Koratala, this mass entertainer has created considerable anticipation. This film marks the third collaboration between Jr NTR and Koratala as a writer and the second time he takes the director’s seat, raising expectations to new heights.
In a recent interview alongside Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar, Jr NTR discussed Devara, specifically sharing insights on why the film was divided into two parts.
Jr NTR stated that the plan to split the film into two parts was not part of their initial vision.. He recalled encouraging Koratala to continue writing as more characters and plotlines developed, resulting in an unexpectedly extensive amount of content.
He also praised Saif Ali Khan’s performance, likening it to his role in Omkara, noting that it carries a similar intensity and atmosphere. Jr NTR suggested that this could be one of Saif’s standout roles in recent years, emphasizing the rich array of captivating characters within the story.
Eventually, their editor, Srikant Prasad, revealed that the film’s runtime had already reached five hours, even before completing the first half of filming. This unexpected news surprised everyone, as they had become deeply engrossed in the narrative. It was then that they realized the necessity of splitting the project into two parts.
This announcement has generated tremendous excitement among fans, who are now eagerly anticipating what Jr NTR and Siva Koratala have in store for them.
